At our school, we are proud to offer a highly efficient, safe, and reliable bus service operated by the Bluebird Group, which adheres to the highest international standards. Parents can have peace of mind knowing that their children are in the care of highly trained professionals who plan, organise, monitor, and take immediate action to ensure their comfort and safety at all times.

Our Bus Office, located on campus, is managed by a Bus Manager from Bluebird Group, supported by a dedicated team of full-time staff committed to providing excellent communication and service to our bus users. This team ensures that all aspects of our bus service are well-coordinated, from daily operations to route planning and scheduling, ensuring that our service runs smoothly and efficiently.

We are dedicated to providing our students with a safe and comfortable transportation experience, and we continuously monitor and evaluate our bus services to ensure that they meet the needs and expectations of our community.

  • Pick up and Drop off

Our bus service provides students with direct pick-up and drop-off from their residential addresses at the scheduled time, as advised by the Bus Office. We take every care to ensure that our buses travel the best route between home and school, optimising efficiency and minimising travel time for our students.

  • Chaperones

Our bus service is staffed with English-speaking chaperones, whose primary duty is to ensure the safety and well-being of the children on the bus. The chaperone will meet the children in front of their houses, assist with storing their school bags (for children in Year Three and below), and ensure they are properly seated with safety belts fastened.

Our chaperones undergo extensive training in Child Protection, First Aid, and Emergency Procedures to ensure that they are equipped to handle any situation that may arise on the bus. They are committed to staying with the children under all circumstances, providing a safe and secure transportation experience for our students.

For children in Year Three and below, the chaperone will personally escort them to their classes upon arrival at school. At the end of the school day, the class teacher will escort the student to the bus waiting area to meet their respective chaperone, ensuring that they are safely reunited with their designated adult.

  • Discipline on the Bus

Our chaperones are also trained to maintain discipline and order on the bus, ensuring a safe and comfortable transportation experience for all students. They are equipped to handle common behavioural issues that may arise on the bus, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere for all bus users.

In cases where further disciplinary action is required, our chaperones will refer the issue to the appropriate authority. For primary students, any such issues will be referred to the Assistant Head of Primary, and for secondary students, they will be referred to the Assistant Head of Secondary.

  • Communications with Bus Office

At the beginning of each term, the Bus Office will provide parents with information regarding the bus route and pick-up times for their students. Any changes to the schedule will be communicated to parents via phone or email, ensuring that they are informed of any updates to the transportation schedule.

If there is a significant delay to the bus schedule, the Bus Office will promptly inform parents and provide them with an expected arrival time. Our team is committed to ensuring that our communication channels are clear and effective, allowing parents to make necessary arrangements in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Bus Routes

Our bus routes and pick-up times are continuously monitored to ensure the most efficient and effective service for our students. We strive to provide the best available routes, optimising travel time and minimising disruption for our bus users.

We welcome feedback from our community and consider it when planning and evaluating our bus routes. However, please note that our pick-up and drop-off arrangements must comply with our established schedule to ensure a timely and efficient transportation service for all students.

  • After Hours Bus

We offer a late transport service at 16:00 for bus users participating in after-school activities. Parents must inform the Bus Office if their child does not use the service on any given day to avoid delays or confusion.

Our team is committed to providing a reliable and efficient transportation service for all students, and we appreciate your cooperation in keeping us informed of any changes to your child's transportation needs.

  • School Transportation Responsibility

Our responsibility for students' safety during transportation begins when they enter the bus and ends when they disembark at the designated pick-up/drop-off point. Parents are responsible for ensuring that their child is ready and prepared to board the bus at the scheduled pick-up time and for promptly meeting their child at the designated drop-off point. We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us provide a safe and reliable transportation service for our students.

  • School Bus Fleet and Safety Features

Our buses are equipped with a range of safety features and modern technologies to provide a reliable and efficient transportation service for our students. All buses are air-conditioned and equipped with radio and handphone links to the Bus Office at the school, ensuring that we can maintain communication with our drivers and chaperones at all times.

We prioritise the safety of our students on the bus, and all buses undergo monthly servicing and inspections to ensure that they meet our high standards. Safety equipment, including first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and seat belts, are regularly checked to ensure that they are in good working condition. Our buses are also equipped with advanced air filtration systems, providing improved air quality for a more comfortable journey.

In addition, our buses are equipped with a GPRS unit that allows us to track their position at 30-second intervals, monitor the engine status, and check the door status, travel speed, and direction. This technology allows us to ensure that our students are on the safest and most efficient route at all times.

To ensure that we are prepared for emergencies, all buses and drivers remain on standby during school hours, allowing for a quick and efficient evacuation in case of any issues. In the event that a bus experiences any trouble, the nearest available bus will be dispatched to assist, or a Blue Bird/Silver Bird taxi will be deployed to ensure that our students arrive safely at their destination.

  • Bus User Conduct Expectations

As part of our commitment to providing a safe and efficient transportation service for our students, we expect all bus users to behave in a manner that reflects the values and expectations of our school community. Parents of bus users are required to sign an undertaking that their child will abide by these expectations:

    • Be courteous to the bus chaperone and driver and follow their instructions
    • Always wear seat belts while on the bus and adjust them properly
    • Be on time for pick-up and drop-off
    • Remain seated when the bus is in motion
    • Do not eat or drink while the bus is in motion
    • Keep the windows closed
    • Be considerate towards other users
    • Respect the property of others
    • Do not vandalise the equipment or interior of the bus
    • Use of personal electronic devices, such as iPods and mobile phones, is permitted, but the music or sound should not disturb other users.

We believe that by following these expectations, our bus users can contribute to a positive and enjoyable transportation experience for all. We appreciate your cooperation and support in reinforcing these expectations with your child and ensuring they understand the importance of safe and respectful behaviour on the bus.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a safe and efficient transportation service for our students.
