Manchester City Football Club (MCFC) is an English professional football club based in Manchester that competes in the Premier League, which is the highest level of English football. Founded in 1880, the club has a rich history and is known for its success in domestic and international competitions, including winning numerous league titles.
The British School Jakarta (BSJ) Football Education programme, in collaboration with Manchester City Football Club, offers authentic and innovative coaching programmes for students. Drawing on Manchester City's coaching philosophy and methodology, BSJ provides a world-class football programme for its students and the external community.
BSJ MCFC Football programme is structured and allows players to perform within the correct stage for their development. BSJ MCFC currently has a recreational programme and development squads. The programme follows the following four stages in line with MCFC's philosophy.

Our Football programme is the first in Southeast Asia to partner with Manchester City Football Club and has two expatriate coaches, Steven Jackson and Richard Lawn. They are supported by four local coaches, who are working their way through the MCFC coaching development programme.

The Manchester City Football School at British School Jakarta offers a distinctive educational approach to football, integrating the curriculum and methodology employed by the esteemed coaching team at Manchester City. Our qualified coaches, trained directly by Manchester City, deliver this exceptional provision within the broader framework of British School Jakarta.
This programme provides children aged 5-14 years old with a valuable opportunity to not only improve their football skills but also promote their overall wellbeing. In a positive and friendly learning environment, participants can cultivate their passion for the sport, forge new friendships, and have a great deal of fun. By emphasizing a holistic approach, we strive to instill healthy habits and foster personal growth among the young players.

Let me begin with a big thank you for such a fun and engaging term of training and teaching football. The coaches are very patient and ensure that they hone the kids’ individual strengths yet address the areas where they need to improve. All thanks to these football sessions, Thursday afternoons and evenings have become much awaited and celebrated in our household. Raaid looks forward to each session and enjoys being there, learning and playing the sport he loves. As an audience mom, I love the energy and the synergy of the children. It’s very encouraging to see that the short game skills taught and the tips given by the coaches are incorporated well by the children in the match that they play at the end of each session. I have 3 boys and have been to many training and football matches but the way the end-of-session matches engage the whole crowd here is just amazing. Raaid is sad to have missed the last two sessions of this term but is looking forward to the next term.
