Prince Edward's Visit

The British School Jakarta recently had the privilege of hosting His Royal Highness Prince Edward on Friday 24 November 2023 as part of his tour across the Asia-Pacific region to highlight The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award.

Prince Edward's visit emphasized the important role of the Duke of Edinburgh International Award, challenging young individuals to develop skills, engage in physical activities, and foster teamwork and leadership through adventurous journeys and community volunteer work.

Throughout his visit, Prince Edward celebrated the accomplishments of Award holders, interacted with Alumni, and observed the Award in action at the BSJ. This occasion not only strengthens the UK-Indonesia Partnership but also highlighted the transformative impact of the Duke of Edinburgh Award on the lives of young individuals in Indonesia.
The event provided a unique opportunity for students to engage with The Duke of Edinburgh. The occasion held special significance as it welcomed His Royal Highness back to the BSJ campus, a place he opened in Bintaro in 1994. The "welcome back" resonated throughout the school community, marking this visit as a memorable and cherished moment in the history of the British School Jakarta.
